At Chamotte - our pottery studio in the heart of Hamburg-Eimsbüttel - we create space for teams to slow down, reconnect and get creative.
With candlelight, mulled wine, and muddy hands, you’ll experience a Christmas gathering that’s warm, meaningful, and just a little magical. It’s the perfect way to kick off the festive season - and a shared experience you’ll remember.

- our Christmas events are designed for groups of all sizes, from intimate gatherings to larger teams of up to 50 participants. Each event can be adapted to your needs.

* No pottery experience required. Just bring your team (and maybe a festive sweater) - we’ll guide you through everything you need.

WHAT CHRISTMAS AT CHAMOTTE LOOKS LIKE

Picture this: candlelight, warm tea, festive snacks - and a table full of clay. Under the gentle guidance of our experienced tutors, your team will dive into the world of pottery and shape their very own ceramic pieces.


All workshops include:

- 2-5 hours of guided pottery
- Up to 4 finished ceramics pieces per person
- All tools, materials & firings
- Cozy atmosphere with seasonal decor
- Seasonal snacks & drinks (mulled wine, tea, treats)
- Optional catering can be arranged through us - or you’re welcome to bring your own!
- Workshops can be held in English or German

HANDCARVING

“SCULPT & SCRAPE”

up to 30 participants

  • Discover the playful side of clay in our Sculpt & Scrape workshop. Starting with a simple lump of clay, your team will shape small pieces (like mugs, plates or vases) using only your hands. You’ll experiment with carving, scratching and decorating, exploring pottery techniques called Sgraffito and Kurinuki. The laid-back atmosphere makes it easy to unwind and get creative together - perfect for sharing mulled wine and a bit of Christmas spirit.

WHEEL THROWING

“SPIN IT UP!”

1-8 participants (max. 16 in two groups)

  • Get your hands muddy and learn the fundamentals of working on the pottery wheel. Your team will create cups, bowls or vases while enjoying the calm, focused vibe of the workshop. It’s a meditative, hands-on experience - the perfect way to step away from the Christmas madness and truly unwind.

MIXED TECHNIQUES

“ALL HANDS ON CLAY!”

up to 30 participants

  • Why choose if you can have it all? In this workshop, your team gets the full pottery experience: one group works on the wheel while the other explores handbuilding techniques. You can decide spontaneously who wants to do what. This workshop is perfect for bigger groups who want variety, creativity and moments of connection that feel just right for the festive season.

SLIP CASTING

“POURING PERFECTION”
WITH MARBLE EFFECT

1-10 participants

  • In this workshop, your team will create a cup collection while exploring the pottery technique of slip casting. You’ll pour liquid clay into plaster molds to create two identical cups, then finish two additional pre-made cups with glazes and underglazes - adding your own colors and finishes. A fun and lighthearted way to try something new together and bring a handmade touch to the festive season.

“MAKE A VASE”

  • For teams looking for a more focused and intensive experience, we recommend our Make a Vase workshop. Together, you’ll dive into the art of handbuilding and create a single, significant piece such as a vase or sculpture. The pace is calm and concentrated, yet still social: everyone works side by side, sharing the process, the challenges and the satisfaction of shaping something truly substantial - a mindful break from the holiday rush, filled with warmth and creativity.
