Make a Set of Plates - 1-day Wheel Throwing Workshop
Join us for this relaxed, yet a bit more focused session. You'll learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing plates and create your own ones.
This course is dedicated for those with some prior wheel throwing experience: you need to be able to throw objects of at 1 kg of clay before the workshop. Your skilled mentor Luise from LuiLuiKeramik will take care of fantastic and relaxing atmosphere and remarkable learning experience to teach you some tricks.

What You'll learn:
Introduction to wheel throwing plates.
Plate Throwing basics: step-by-step guidance through the whole process.
Understand and practice two different plate throwing techniques: with hands and with a rolling pin.
Find out how to create different styles of plates: flat, with rim or a donut.
You’ll have the time to create multiple plates, focusing on mastering the technique rather than quantity.
End the session by preparing your work for slow drying and learn how to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Choose between two plates, that we’ll trim and glaze for You (you may keep the third plate for an additional fee)
Choose the glazes, that we’ll use to glaze Your creations.

Why Take Part in This Workshop?
This workshop is designed to give a remarkable pottery experience. The focus is on revealing to you the mystery and tricks of wheel throwing plates. However, it is not meant to teach you the fundamentals of wheel throwing or to make you an independent potter. Pottery is a lifelong journey, and this course will reveal its magic to you.
The workshop takes place at Chamotte: The Pottery Collective, Hoheluftchaussee 58, 20253 Hamburg and will be conducted fully in English.
